Support the Astor House Tenants’ Fight!

bjblogo

Megadevelopers at BJB Properties are displacing dozens of Astor House tenants through a combination of forced evictions, intimidation, and poor conditions. The building suffers plauges of bedbugs and mice; disruptions in heat and water service; and dysfunctional elevators. Tenants say building management has threatened to report them for participating in organizing.

But the tenants are fighting back, and you can support them with the following actions!

1. Call Ald. Joe Moore (773-338-5796) and BJB Properties (847-825-8686 and 847-823-0556) and ask them to immediately convene negotiations between the Astor House’s owners and the building’s tenants.
2. Sign the BJB Boycott Pledge to tell the company that this behavior will not stand in Rogers Park! Share the pledge by telling others to sign it at  tinyurl.com/boycottBJB.
